We are growing close to publishing our first Podcast for utahblues.com ,and as I have been spreading the word to people throughout the week I am finding that many people do not know what a podcast is. So let me give my quick explanation, as well as provide a few links with more information.
Podcasting, to me, is basically like Tivo for radio. A Podcast is essentially a radio show, a radio show that you subscribe too (for free). For example, if I subscribe to the Utah Blues Podcast, then whenever Utah Blues releases a new Podcast, it will be automatically downloaded to my computer, and if I own an iPod (or other MP3 player), it will be automatically synced onto my player. Subscribing to Podcasts is made very simple with any client or player that supports Podcasting, the most poular client is Apple iTunes, which runs on Macintosh or Windows XP, and is a free program. We are excited about this new technology and how it can benifit the blues community, and local music scene as a whole. So be sure to spread the word, and subscribe to the Utah Blues Podcast!
